All the ingredients I like and a bit of spice on top. Love the strange psych folk atmosphere merged with other influences on some tracks. Odd sounds and combinations add to the underground vibe. Fans of Sproatly Smith should like this, I do. Also should point out the recordings are 24bit (44.1khz).
it was a very limited edition of cdrs, individually packaged in printed tissue paper
the album has now been slightly adjusted, and is only available for digital download (though we might still have one at home ...)
released September 16, 2008
all songs were written and performed by mark waters & kate gathercole, except for thumbprint, which was based on original work by alex gordon
thumbprint features harmony vocals from the wonderful aspel orchid & additional colour from the also wonderful lycanthrope oboe
some lyrics in endless night were written by members of little blood
the sounds on sagging pockets, labelled jars & old tobacco tins come from guitars, a mandolin, a glockenspiel, radiators, a cabassa, jack's shrooti box, a melodica, a banjo, a violin, a delay pedal, a piano, a double bass, a toy accordion, things that make a noise when you hit them. with some singing too
