Lyrics:
As the woodland fills its great lungs
And its roots reach deeply down
Standing steady as the wind blows
Does it feel the falter in our step?
As the bee hums with the sun’s song
Butterfly now warms its wings
Blackbird gives its song to springtime
Do they feel the catching of our breath?
Do blossoms pause in their unfolding?
Seedlings hesitate in clay?
Do the birds that fly out from the hills beyond the hills
Know we are slower, uncertain of our way?
Does the earth want for our footstep?
Do the trees long for our breath?
Do the birds outside our window
Sing a song of comfort while we wait?
about
Like others during coronavirus we’ve been writing and recording - and taking time to reflect on the impact of lockdown on us and on the world around us... aware of our absence from the patterning of the systems around us, and the strangeness of this silent spring.
The title is a line from a poem by Nadine Anne Hura:
Papatūānuku - Mother Earth
Rest.
Breathe.
Recover.
Heal.

When listening to the music one easily feels like in a (day-) dream. Hard to believe: it's not a concept album, but a mixture of "greatest hits". Fantastic! rainer eric
