about
The National Chartist Hymn Book was printed in Rochdale in 1800s for the National Chartist Association. We were introduced to the collection by Chris Piersenne. We wrote the tune.
lyrics
Hymn Fifth
Men of England you are slaves
Bought by tyrants, ruled by knaves
Yours the toil, the sweat, the pain
Theirs the profit ease and gain
Men of England you are slaves
Hear the stormy tempest rage
Tis the Nation’s voice I hear
Shouting, liberty is near
When listening to the music one easily feels like in a (day-) dream. Hard to believe: it's not a concept album, but a mixture of "greatest hits". Fantastic! rainer eric
