about
2020, in the stillness of midwinter. 3pm and already darkening. Making our way through changes - this year when patterns disrupted.
Yet at dawn this morning the thrush was here - flinging his soul in a commotion of longing onto the dull mist of the solstice morning.
For many - and for many reasons - there is an unlooked for quietness in this year’s midwinter season.
But even in this darkness, as the sun turns back towards the northern skyline, the light is returning - a change of energy when we need it most.
"And so the shortest day came and the year died
And everywhere down the centuries of the snow-white world
Came people singing, dancing,
To drive the darkness away..."
